Introduction

Oh Reciplease ("we," "us," or "our") operates ohreciplease.com and the Oh, Reciplease! application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (stored securely by our auth provider). If you use Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information allowed by that provider.

Payments

If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe processes the payment. Stripe receives the email address associated with your account and the payment details you submit to Stripe. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers on your profile so we can apply the correct plan. We do not store full card numbers.

Content you provide

We store the recipes, notes, meal plans, grocery lists, images, and other content you create or import so the Service can function and sync across your devices.

AI processing

When you use import, chat, or generation features, recipe text and images you submit are sent to our backend and to OpenAI (or similar model providers) for processing. Do not submit information you are not comfortable sharing with those processors.

Dietary preferences and restrictions

If you choose to save dietary preferences, restrictions, or allergy-related information (for example, a "diet profile" or "free-from" settings), we store it to personalize features you request, and it may be sent to our AI providers to process those requests. This information can be sensitive; you provide it voluntarily and can edit or remove it at any time.

We use this information on a best-effort basis only. It does not guarantee that any recipe, ingredient list, or AI output will exclude, or correctly identify, any ingredient or allergen. Do not rely on the Service to keep you or anyone else safe from allergens or unsafe foods — see the "AI features" and "Health, allergies, and dietary information" sections of our Terms of Service.

Usage and diagnostics

We collect:

• Product analytics (PostHog) — page views and custom events such as cook mode and imports, tied to your account after sign-in
• Error and performance data (Sentry) — crash reports, performance traces, and user-submitted problem reports (including an optional screenshot of the current page), with sensitive headers filtered
• Server logs (Vercel, Supabase) — request metadata for security and debugging

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist on our landing page, we store your email address until launch outreach or until you ask us to remove it.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Authenticate you and enforce usage limits
• Send transactional email (verification, password reset) via Resend
• Process paid subscriptions via Stripe
• Understand product usage and fix errors
• Comply with law and protect the Service

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and local storage

We and our analytics providers may use cookies and browser local storage to remember sessions, measure usage, and improve reliability. PostHog may set cookies for analytics when enabled.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some features.

Service providers

We use trusted processors who handle data on our behalf:

Data retention

We retain account and recipe data while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, security, or backup purposes.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data.

To make a request, email privacy@ohreciplease.com. We may need to verify your identity.

You can stop using the Service and request account deletion by contacting us.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information and we will delete it.

International users

We operate from the United States. If you access the Service from other regions, your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, row-level security on user data, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post changes on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-app notice where appropriate.
