Terms of Service

Introduction

Welcome to Oh, Reciplease! at ohreciplease.com (the "Service"), operated by Oh Reciplease ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

The Service

Oh, Reciplease! is a recipe management application. Features may include importing recipes from URLs, pasted text, or photos; organizing and editing recipes; cook mode with timers; meal planning; grocery lists; and AI-assisted tools such as recipe chat and generation.

Features, limits, and availability may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate registration information
  • Keeping your login credentials secure
  • All activity under your account

Notify us at privacy@ohreciplease.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content you do not have the right to use
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, AI usage caps, or security controls
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Service
  • Interfere with other users' access
  • Use automated means to access the Service except through documented APIs we provide

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Your content

You retain ownership of recipes, notes, images, and other content you submit ("User Content").

You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, display, and transmit User Content only as needed to operate and improve the Service (for example, syncing across your devices, running AI import features you request, and displaying your collection).

You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit User Content and that it does not infringe others' rights.

AI features

Parts of the Service use artificial intelligence to parse, generate, modify, classify, or make suggestions about recipe and dietary content. AI is experimental and its output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or wrong, including ingredient lists, substitutions, cooking times, food-safety guidance, nutritional information, and allergen or dietary labeling. AI may "hallucinate" content that looks correct but is not.

You are responsible for reviewing and independently verifying all AI output before relying on it, especially for allergies, dietary restrictions, food safety, and cooking times. See "Health, allergies, and dietary information" below, which applies to all AI and non-AI features alike.

AI features are subject to usage limits. We may change models, limits, or pricing tiers with notice where required.

Health, allergies, and dietary information

The Service is not a medical, nutritional, or food-safety tool, and it does not provide medical, health, or dietary advice. Recipes, ingredient lists, substitutions, nutritional or dietary tags, "free-from" or allergen indications, and any AI-generated or AI-modified content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your needs.

Food allergies, intolerances, and certain medical or dietary conditions can cause serious illness or death. You must not rely on the Service — including AI features, saved dietary preferences, a "diet profile" or similar settings, or any allergen or "free-from" labeling — to determine whether any food, ingredient, or recipe is safe for you or anyone else.

Any feature that lets you record dietary preferences or restrictions is provided for personalization and convenience only. It is applied on a best-effort basis and does not guarantee that generated, imported, or suggested content will exclude, or correctly identify, any given ingredient or allergen.

You are solely responsible for independently verifying all ingredients, preparation steps, and allergen and dietary information against original recipe sources and product packaging, and for consulting a qualified medical or nutrition professional about your specific needs and restrictions.

By using the Service you acknowledge and accept these risks and assume full responsibility for all decisions about what you and others purchase, prepare, and eat. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any allergic reaction, adverse health effect, illness, injury, or death, or any other harm, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or its content.

Free service and paid plans

The Service offers a free plan with monthly AI usage limits. Paid plans (Plus and Pro) are available as monthly subscriptions billed through Stripe.

  • Prices and current limits are shown in the app before you pay.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
  • You may cancel at any time in Settings → Account → Manage subscription (Stripe Customer Portal). After you cancel, paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, then the account returns to the free plan. Your recipes and other content remain yours.
  • Refunds: we do not refund unused time on a billing period except where required by law or as Stripe processes a valid dispute.
  • We may change prices or plan limits with notice. Changes apply at the next renewal unless we say otherwise.
  • Staff/tester “unlimited” accounts are not a paid product.

Checkout is processed by Stripe. By completing payment you also agree to Stripe’s terms. We do not store full card numbers.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, hosting, authentication, email, analytics, error monitoring, and AI). Your use of those features may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information. It is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that recipe imports, AI output, or dietary and allergen information will be accurate, or that any content is safe, suitable for consumption, or free of any particular ingredient or allergen. You rely on the Service at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO US $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification) will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where prohibited by your local consumer protection laws.
